Continued
They were 15 minutes late. A vast improvement from our last expedition. Mom and I poked and beat each other in the restaurant and carried on like we always do. There were no comments on my earings. But while I was fending my mom off of my fruit salad (which came with lemon sorbet and was very good), Rick had to interupt us about three times before we were quiet enough for him to say a prayer before we ate. Aunt Dorothy knows we aren't into the same spiritual path as her, so I thought this was kind of awkward. Of course the face Mom made at me while they were praying wasn't much of an improvement. I wasn't expecting an open prayer in the middle of the restaurant, the only time we do that is at Gramma's durign the holidays. And I put my head down with everyone else out of respect for Gramma becuase she loves us and she doesn't need all her kids having a crazy fight in the middle of dinner. We had that once between Mom and Sandy. Not fun. Of course, that doesn't matter becuase apparently my grandfather (the alive one) is convinced that I worship the devil. Even though he has never taken the time to get to know me. He's convinced that Mom and Gramma kept him away from me deliberately...even though I'm at his house every holiday and he's had ample oppurtunity to talk to me. He ususally doesn't even acknowledge my existence...he only recently started saying hi or bye to me when we're there or they're here. I don't know why he's convinced I worship the devil, he doesn't think Mom does. Also he doesn't "approve" of the things I do...whatever he's convinced those may be. Back to the subject though...I guess I can understand Aunt Dorothy assuming we wouldn't mind her prayer...but it was kind of rude not to even ask first. I suspect Rick doesn't know we "worship the devil" and all that. He's kind of creepy. He pretty much comments on every little thing every other person says...whether or not he understands what's going on. He also makes a lot of attempted jokes based on what people say...a lot like when I do it except he's really really bad at it. He did make a few amusing comments but when you try that much you can't help but get it right a few times...even if it's on accident. Plus there's the whole thing where he sat in Gramma's chair at the one holiday...which was so not cool. Then he said that he "always sat there". He's just weird. I hope she doesn't stay with him too much longer. He gives me the creeps kinda.

You should have worn a shirt that said I <3 Satan on it.....I think that would have gotten the message across.
